Blog/ A Day In The Scottish Shire

Before I got to Scotland I had the brilliant idea of staying in a Hobbit House. Why, you may ask? Well, because I'm thinking of building one at Toplița, for my retreat / community / permaculture / Sanctary of Life project.

And it turns out the odds were in my favor because I found a property that offered 2 Hobbit Houses for rent. After a bit of back and forth emailing the owners to negotiate a single night instead of the minimum two as stated on the booking apps, we came to an agreement and my Lord of Rings reversed adventure started to move from idea to reality.

The only thing left was figuring out how to get there, but eventually with the help pf the local taxi driver Eric–a really nice fellow, recommended by the owners once more I managed to reduce the ~200 Pounds that Uber was gonna cost me to 40 Pounds.

This is what I got myself into upon arrival:

And here are the Hobbitsies Houses. The only thing I haven't found here was Schmigol :)

And following are the other awesome buildings on the property. The owner Ian is a very skilled craftman and all round creative and cool person!
